On 21.03.2023, we departed at 9:15 towards Schwechat. Everyone was in a good mood, except for Mom who was nervous. Bertl was a bit nervous and suspicious. He was about to be packed up.
As soon as I set foot in the airport, the soles of my shoes crumbled. They instantly disintegrated, which was inconvenient because those were the shoes I planned to wear. Thankfully, I was provided with rental shoes. However, one could have thought it was a bad omen.
Speaking of bad omens, after Bianca's statement 'We only have to drop off our luggage and survive the explosives check👀', because she usually always gets pulled aside, I had to take off my shoes and was searched for explosive traces. The DSLR camera in my backpack must have been suspicious.
Everything else went smoothly, after Bianca's indicatation the airplane was touched outside before boarding.
Arriving at Stockholm Arlanda Airport, our suitcases obediently lined up in formation. From there, we took the train to Stockholm Central station, where our night train to Jörn departs. So far, everything has gone so smoothly that we are just waiting for the inevitable catastrophe that must still come.
After a short walk, we decided that visiting Maci is simply obligatory and there is no way around it. Conclusion - they are the masters of fries (though overly salty), they have a very good garlic sauce, but they can't make burgers.
After we were full, we took an extensive and random city stroll through Stockholm. Nice vibes, but what can you expect from a city that has its own food and bird nesting island?
While waiting for the night train, we spotted Bianca's doppelgänger.
We departed at 21:56. The first look into our compartment triggered mixed feelings. The affair was very cozy aka terribly cramped. It turned out that we were quite exhausted from the journey day and actually very satisfied with our accommodation. Even though we didn't sleep very well, the night train was clean and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the experience of opening our eyes and having a phone in our face was not well received, even though we were only trying to snap a photo of the subtle layer of snow outside. Some people are just very sensitive.
We arrived in Umeå (pronounced - Ümea) at 6:43. From there, it was about 2 more hours to Jörn, where Konstantin was supposed to pick us up.
During the remaining waiting time, Bianca was already practicing for the tasks of the next week.
After arriving relatively on time despite the initial delay, Konstantin was already waiting for us, smoking. We also survived a relatively quiet, approximately 2-hour drive mostly on icy snow-covered roads (at least physically - mentally and socially, we were already quite down to earth).
