Unfortunately, there is very little WiFi in the forest. Cannot upload photos. That will be done later!
Today, the announced rain came again. It was pouring in the morning. During a short break in the rain, we quickly ran to the showers with our rubber boots. The campsite is clearing out. Many people left today. Well, I'll say this: anyone can enjoy nice weather, but only the tough ones can handle camping in the rain ;) wet clothes, everything dirty and damp. Thank God we don't have a tent.
So the hike was still pending. Today is our last day here. After lunch, the rain subsided a bit. We headed to the national park. There were three cars in the parking lot. One of them had license plates from FG. Can't you have peace and quiet anywhere from the Saxons? ;)
A friendly ranger greeted us and offered to answer any questions. We put on our weatherproof gear first. Jule Wolfskin got into the carrier. Philip got a pocket knife and a flashlight. Gotta keep him entertained. So off we went along the purple trail. Everyone followed dad, he has the map. The trail started at Vitsand by the lake. Great view despite the rain. The trail went up and down, even with tree obstacles. But no challenge for inexperienced hikers like us... At some point, the purple markings disappeared. Hmm..Where are we? A faint 'I can't walk anymore' from Philip caught mom's attention. No, I won't carry 19 kg for 2 km. So we retreated... Still a nice trail for a start. Jule did well and Philip eventually did too. He was supposed to look out for an elk. Making fun of kids should be prohibited...
Back at the campsite, we bought some souvenirs at the super cute mini shop in the reception. Great place run with lots of love. Marlies always had a smile on her face. Highly recommended. They also have cabins and a sauna by the lake. Unfortunately, we only discovered that just now...
Tomorrow we're heading to Gothenburg.
