After a long flight journey, I landed safely at Auckland Airport on Friday morning. After going through the automatic passport control and bio check (to see if the equipment is clean), I was in the country 15 minutes later. At the airport, I arranged for a shuttle to Whitianga (a village with about 4,500 inhabitants, lots of shops, and friendly people) and a hostel for the first night. In the meantime, I have found accommodation with a host family for the duration of my language course, which starts tomorrow. Today, I hiked to a lookout point and beach where you have a beautiful view of the sea. The weather was initially good, but then it quickly became cloudy and started raining. It's been raining a lot lately, but it's warm and comfortable temperature-wise.
When crossing the street, you have to be careful because you have to look in the opposite direction as in Germany since they drive on the wrong side. It takes some getting used to 😅
I didn't have any jet lag because I had two overnight flights and could sleep on the plane. :)
Bye✌
