Hello my dear ones!
Now here comes a long post for you. I just arrived back on the Gold Coast and am eagerly waiting for Sandra to finally arrive in 6 days!!! *aaaaaaaahhh*
Monday, 14.11.:
Today I had my second-to-last exam, so I still had to study.
Tuesday, 15.11.:
Last exam *yeah*
After the exam, I had to say goodbye to Nici - we will see each other again but only for 1 or max 2 more days. She went to Melbourne with her friend and will come back to the Gold Coast with her boyfriend.
After saying goodbye to her, I went to the beach with Verena (a German friend of Nasi). Nasi had to study and didn't have time for her. Then I showed her around Surfers.
In the evening, Verena, Muqeet, and 2 more people went bowling, then went to Nasi's house for dinner. At midnight, we started our trip to Mount Warning - to watch the sunrise. We had to hike uphill for 1.5 hours at 2 o'clock in the night to see such an amazing view:
Mattias, Phungi, Muqeet, Julian, Lana, Noemi, Urs, Maiko, me, Nasi, Verena, and Chris.
We went there with a 12-seater car and Nasi and I provided the party :-D
After enjoying the view, it took us 2 hours to hike back down. Some people had to be taken home and the rest (Lana, Julian, Muqeet, Mattias, and I) went to Burleigh Heads beach.
After the beach, we quickly rested at home and then went to Waxy's for the last time to have schnitzel.
Finally, after being awake for 30 hours, my bed was calling me. ;-)
By the way, Daddy's comment on my sunrise was:
haha :-D
Thursday, 17.11.:
I had to think about what happened on Wednesday - but Tuesday and Wednesday were combined into one day for me :-D
Today I also had to 'sleep in' - sleeping in means until 9 here.
Today was Noemi's last exam and we met at the uni bar for a goodbye beer with lunch. For dessert, we redeemed Noemi's birthday gift at Max Brenner - it's a 'chocolate bar'. After that, I went to the shopping center with Nasi and Verena to get a gift for Arthur tonight.
At 8, we all met again at Arthur's place and celebrated. Then we went to Ladies Night.
Friday, 18.11:
Today Caro also had her last exam and we met in the 'city'. Then I met up with other people and had a farewell party in the evening.
Saturday, 19.11:
Today I moved out of my shared flat. While packing, I wondered where I would store all these things for the flight back home. I stored my stuff at Caro's place because I won't be there for a week and had to take the train 3 times to get all the stuff to Caro's place.. @Sandra: I hope you bring a half empty suitcase with you :-D
At 3:00 pm, I met up with Phungi. We actually wanted to explore Brisbane a bit, but unfortunately, 3-4 buses didn't show up and we only arrived in Brisbane at 7 o'clock.
We booked a room in Brisbane because we have to get up early tomorrow.
Sunday, 20.11:
Off to Moreton Island with Phungi and Mattias.
We booked a day tour and were picked up in the morning and taken to the island by ferry. The tour operator was already waiting for us with a 4x4 car with which we drove around the island very bumpy.
First, we stopped at a lookout point:
Then we went to the Champagne Pools. It's called that because when the waves hit the rocks, the water foams up..
We continued to Honeymoon Bay
At the end of the trip, we went sandboarding and then went into the water to get the sand off our skin :-D
Unfortunately, the current was too strong and we couldn't swim out to the rocks to snorkel :-(
Then we took the ferry back to Brisbane.
@Leonie: Yes, I've been practicing hard here too - but I'm looking forward to rocking the dance floor with you all again :-)
Next week:
Monday, 21.11.:
Off we go with the camper!
Noemi, Nasi, Lana, Verena, Mattias, Muqeet, Jonathan, Arthur, and I all met up in Brisbane. At 10, we had to pick up the two campers and it wasn't until 12 that we finally packed all the luggage and started heading north.
We had 2 campers - after the Mount Warning trip last week, Nasi and I were separated :-( :-D The drivers said they wouldn't be able to handle it again.. Well, accordingly, the journey was only half as amusing as with Nasi....
On the first night, I slept outside in a tent with Nasi.
Tuesday, 22.11:
The first stop today was at Noosa National Park, where we walked around a lake and then a big fat fish came towards us... I quickly jumped onto a tree trunk... *yuck*
The next stop was Rainbow Beach (M.V. Sarawak Campground, Inskip Point), where we parked our campers and spent the second night. Tonight I slept in a tent with Noemi :-)
Wednesday, 23.11:
After it rained last night and the tent was a bit underwater, Noemi and I had to snuggle up with the people in the camper. :-D
In the morning, Nasi, Mattias, Muqeet, and I got up early because we booked a 3-day tour to Fraser Island.
The first stop on Fraser was the beautiful Lake Mc Kenzie. Amazing!!
Then a quick detour to Basin Lake.
Next, we went to admire the beautiful sunset:
Thursday, 24.11.:
Today, one of my to-do's came true:
The sand of Fraser Island.
Then a quick stop at the Pinnacles:
And on the way, we encountered a dingo:
Next, we continued towards Champagne Pools:
The day ended with a 15-minute hike, where we saw dolphins, turtles, and manta rays.
Friday, 25.11.:
Today, thankfully it wasn't so hot because we had a 45-minute hike to the sand dunes ahead of us.
The guide we had on our tour enjoyed Nasi's and my good mood... :-D
When we arrived back at the campsite, we immediately packed the campers again and continued towards Hervey Bay. (Campsite: Cheery Nomand RV Park & Farmstay Camp Area, Fazio Rd 113, Lawson Road) This place had everything you needed, including a kitchen. There, we recharged the campers' power overnight.
Saturday, 26.11.:
Today, I had to say goodbye to Jonathan, Arthur, and Noemi with a heavy heart! :-( I will see the others again in Sydney on New Year's Eve :-)
So here are 2 farewell photos, one with the great group and one with dear Noemi alone..
Then I took the Greyhound Bus back to the Gold Coast to Caro :-)
Sunday, 27.11.:
Today I got up at 8 o'clock, then Caro and I went for a swim in the pool and then we had breakfast.
Afterwards, I had to catch up on diary entries for 2 weeks.
Then I quickly went grocery shopping, maintained some contacts again, and enjoyed the quiet Sunday.
Until next week!
@Sändi: I'll really see you next week *aaaaaaaaaaah* Countdown is on
@Goddi, I'll get that ice cream next week! :-)
