I have reached a state of relaxation and tranquility - the dark circles are gone and the tan is here. Why didn't I write a post yesterday? Because I was relaxing (and still am) and that's totally okay π
There won't be a travel report today, but to put it shortly: I'm doing great, it's still beautiful here, and for the past two days I've been on the beach, rolling from one side to the other. Because many people constantly ask me if I travel alone and how I manage it, I thought I'd give you 10 reasons in the next two posts that might encourage you to travel alone (Go for it!)
Traveling alone means facing a personal challenge - you're on your own and have to deal with yourself. Sometimes, it can be more difficult than it seems, but believe me: it's a very important step towards self-discovery.
Whether it's the bus ride, shopping, or eating at a restaurant - you have to somehow manage on your own and once you've mastered it, whether with hand gestures, broken Spanish - there's always a little adventure behind it.
There are probably only a few who don't know it: arguing on vacation with your travel companion. It's like this: after a few days, you can really get on each other's nerves π Not when you travel alone: the only person who can ruin your vacation is yourself and let's be honest: who would take that on? And you have to deal with your grudge on your own.
Whether you can approach people or find it difficult: I would bet 100% that you will be approached and a enriching conversation will take place! At least that's my experience. People are interested in your trip and ask where you come from, what you want to see, and are open-minded! You might even find someone to have a drink with.
At first, it might feel annoying when you are asked twice if you are dining alone, but it will pass! No one cares if you're sitting there alone or not, and it doesn't affect the taste. On the contrary: no food envy and no one who can steal your appetizers π So enjoy it!
That's it for the first 5 reasons why solo travel is worth it. Tomorrow, you can expect the next 5! And until then, I send you the best greetings from Curacao! π
