We started our trek directly in Arequipa to the second deepest valley in the world, the Colca Valley or Colca Canyon. The trek lasted 3 days and is quite easy to describe, because on the first day we went down 1200 meters into the valley, on the second day we walked up and down through the valley for 700 meters to the next lodge for overnight stay, and on the third day we climbed back up the 1200 meters :D sounds simple, but it's really tiring.
Our guide was really dumb, besides the fact that he has a shitty hair style (black hair with blonde streaks in the front in a slicked-back ponytail), he also constantly lied to us about the food and the distance and stuff. Really annoying. I really hated him :D
Well, at the end of each day we were rewarded with a nice bath in the pool :)
The climb of 1200 meters uphill was ultimately not as exhausting as the descent, and I only took 2 1/2 hours.. Yeah :)
I think the worst thing was the sun, because there was really hardly any shade, except on the last day (we started at half past 4 in the morning) and it was beating down on my head, it was really uncomfortable, so on the second day I had to use my scarf as a turban :D.. Really sexy :D
Yesterday we treated ourselves to a Doner Kebab as a reward for the trek... ONE Doner Kebab! I missed it so much :D without the tzatziki, but damn good :D
Where we will go next is not quite clear yet, either another trek in Arequipa or onwards to Bolivia, which means that Chapter 2: Peru is already over π
I'll keep you posted :)
See you soon
Chrissie :)
