1. Etappe Von Porto Covo nach Villa Nove de Milfontes

Lofalitsidwa: 08.04.2024

Finally, a holiday with a bit of an adventure feeling again. Yesterday my travel partner Doris and I met in real life for the first time at Lisbon airport. We arranged to meet for this hike on a travel partner portal and have been talking about it online for about two months. Now we are walking the trail together in real life.

From Lisbon we took the Rede-Espressos bus to Porto Covo, where we were able to enjoy the sunset over the Atlantic and the first delicious Portuguese wine.

This morning we started with relatively grey skies and a stormy wind, and after just the first hour we were completely drenched in rain. But after that there was only sun and wind, so we quickly dried out again.

From the very first moment, we were blown away by the beauty of this coastal path. Each bay offers its own unique scenery of rocks, cliffs, waves and spray. The hiking trail mostly winds its way above the cliffs through a carpet of plants with many different splashes of color. However, the ground is mostly soft sand, so it becomes really tiring after a while. But these 22 km are really worth the effort. Unfortunately, more and more people are realizing this and the hike is definitely no longer lonely here.
