One last delicious breakfast, then packing the suitcase, and off we go to the final stop of our journey. Heading north in Mauritius to Grand Baie.
Pure luxury for a farewell - the suitcases are picked up from the room, taken to the car, and the vehicle is even brought forward. A sedan would have completed the picture, but I think even Prince Philip walked - well, maybe he was driven in a golf cart.
In Mauritius, there is a deposit system for glass bottles (e.g., for beer or cola) just like at home. Before we start heading north, we have to get rid of the bottles. (You can actually return them at the information desk in the supermarket.)
Ira wants to visit an Indian clothing store and look for a dress. A real Bollywood store. Shahat is considering buying a kurta (an Indian suit), but it didn't work out because they were either too small or too big, and when they fit, the color wasn't right. The one top that fit and had the right color blew the budget with its price and especially its weight. Micha tried on two where everything fit, but then the question arose, 'When should I wear it?' So only Ira left the store with a pretty dress (including pants and shawl - always included in India).
Today, Micha is completing his last required driving session - highway driving.
After an hour, we reach our last hotel 'Club las Piranjas.'
Some might remember the 1995 film featuring Hape Kerkeling. In 2023, Part 2 was released, and the filming took place in the spring and summer of 2022 in Mauritius at the Canonnier Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa.
And here we are
6 days of all-inclusive club vacation, eating and drinking until the doctor arrives. Only Hape is not here.
