Brisbane, Fraser Island and lots of fun

E phatlaladitšwe: 29.01.2018

We spent the last weekend on Fraser Island. A wonderfully beautiful sand island in the middle of the Pacific. By the way, the largest sand island in the world. The Aborigines call it 'K'gari', which means paradise. And paradise is more than true here. We swam in the paradise Lake McKenzie, hiked through the rainforest of Pine Valley, drank the crystal clear water of Wanggoolba Creek, walked through the sand dunes of Hammerstone Sandblow until we cooled off in the fish-rich freshwater of Lake Wabby. We saw the colorful sands of the Pinnacles, bathed among clownfish in the Champagne Pools (natural pools fed by the Pacific), climbed the cliffs of Indian Head, saw the wreck of the SS Maheno, until we had a crowning finale in Eli Creek, where we let ourselves float in the shallow, cool watercourse through the rainforest to the sandy beach. A grand time that we were able to share with many dear people! (Thanks guys!)

And after crawling out of our camper this morning, we were spontaneously invited by Martha and Helmut (former inhabitants of Bad Tölz) for coffee with Hefezopf and a Bavarian snack. (A herzlichs vergelt's Gott an eich zwoa!)
