The platform of the Kremlin Church in Vologda gives us an overview of the city. (See pictures)
On worn steps of a wooden staircase, we moved back down to the Kremlin garden. Anatoli came with a young student from Moscow who is learning German from him. The student in aircraft logistics, Maria, and Anna visited the Sophia Cathedral together. This is the cathedral with the silver onion domes that can be seen well in the pictures. Anatoli and I visited the icon exhibition housed in the rooms of the Kremlin. We were very surprised that the first rooms exhibited paintings and objects by a young Russian artist, because this special exhibition was not clearly announced (see pictures). The exhibits of this exhibition impressed with their colors and shapes.
The second exhibition by a Russian artist impressed with the exceptional choice of materials, including enamel. The artist processes used, partially rusted sheet metal into sculptures, also using textile materials in the form of patchwork work.
The silver jewelry works of a colleague of the first-mentioned artist (names will be supplied later!) were displayed in several showcases. In my opinion, these are artistic high-quality works. It rounded off my impression that these artists are highly qualified people. This solo exhibition impressed me very much. I was able to persuade Anna to visit this exhibition again with me. It is also the conclusion of this highly emotional and very intense time here in Vologda and the region. We have met a lot of interesting people.
We come back with many experiences and memories in our backpack...
