Death on the Nile….
....or boarding on a "premium ship"
The alarm clock rings shortly after 6.....the phone too. Someone wants to pick up our suitcases again.....of course, for a tip. 😫
The breakfast is manageable, but we don't really have time since we are already being picked up at 7:20 to go to Luxor. But for that, we are given a lunch package for the 4-hour journey, which we hand out to Bedouin children at the first stop.
By the way, we are already in Luxor after a 6-hour drive through the mountains.
We stop at a pier with a pretty rundown ship.
Thankfully, our ship is behind it....but it doesn't look much better. The cabins are small and pretty worn-out, but there are no better cabins. I call it a "premium ship", I don't want to know what a normal ship looks like.
But now here comes the kicker, the supposedly included excursions according to the tour guide are not included (hahaha...) we have to pay 750€ for 2 people. But that's not all, Wi-Fi, as described in the trip, is unfortunately not available. We try the SIM cards from the airport, but they don't work, so we have to buy a SIM card here for 20€ for 4GB. No problem 😤 The all-inclusive light turns out to be the next rip-off. The trip stated that all-inclusive light means drinks during meals and in the evening. Suddenly, we have to pay for the drinks during meals. 💰💰
Just scams here.
You can't even go to Luxor, as we are 8km away from Luxor. We had imagined it a bit differently, like many others here 😫 but I guess we have to go through with it. In addition, we will stay here for 2 days and take the bus for the excursions.....I actually thought we had booked a cruise. Dinner is somewhat okay, apparently it's typical for everything to be cold.
Good night 😴💤🌙
