The day started quite well. Wake up, get ready, go to the girls' house. Make breakfast, say goodbye to Jess and greet Indi. Luckily, she went to school today *relieved* Although driving in England is not as bad as I thought, it's still an unfamiliar country, an unfamiliar route, and a lot of traffic. Well, okay. We dropped off the girls at school (I won't reveal that Izzy was ALMOST late *cough cough*).
Indi brought me back home and was supposed to give me the key to the front door. Problem? She didn't have it with her. (Later on, it turned out that the key was lost) No big deal, I have a key to the back door. I walked obediently to the back, tried to unlock it, and guess what?
The key is stuck inside and twisted. After minutes of texting with Indi and searching in the light rain, I found the 'secret' key box with a numeric code.
All good. Went inside, played with Cracker for a bit, and did some chores. Then I wanted to explore the village with the dog. Another problem. Where is the leash? Eventually, I found it and wandered around the village with the dog. Visited one of the churches and the little convenience store.
Back home, as expected, I played with Cracker, who eventually got tired and cuddled up on the couch. (Very cuddly dog ;) )
At some point, I went back to my flat to read a bit and locked the back door (with Cracker inside). Around three o'clock, Indi picked me up to pick up the kids. I went back to the house and was shocked: the dog was gone!!! At first, I thought she might be somewhere upstairs. But after searching the house for the third time and still not finding her, I started to panic a bit.
Indi came, she also had no idea where Cracker could be, but then had the idea that she might be with Patty. While the kids and I were eating, Patty actually came into the house (she has a key) and brought Cracker back. The old lady thought no one was home and took the dog with her.
SHOCK OF MY LIFE!!! But everything is fine. Cracker is home, and now I know where to look if she's not there :D:D:D
And slowly I'm starting to understand the English school system. Year 1 is like our preschool in kindergarten. That's why the kids here start at 5 years old. That's still quite simple, but the schedule?! My head is spinning.
Going to school in uniform and bringing a game kit. Or going to school in sports clothes and bringing the uniform. Or going to school in uniform and bringing swimwear. And somehow it changes every day what the kids need!!!! At least there are no clubs this week. They'll be added next week o.o
HELP!!!! Hopefully, I'll understand it at some point. At least there are notes hanging in the kitchen on who, how, when, and what so I can cheat >.< I would be completely lost without them :D:D:D
At least tomorrow is simple: school uniform, that's it!!! :D:D:D
