Day 357 - 762 turns to Pai

E phatlaladitšwe: 27.12.2023

Haaaalloooo everyone!

Today we had a really great day where everything worked out!

The alarm clock rang at 8:00 a.m., we got up and the lady from the vehicle rental agency wrote that she would bring the car to us at 9:00 a.m.

At 9 a.m. sharp we were standing outside, but there was no sign of the woman... After a quarter of an hour we started to get a little nervous - she's probably coming...

Then she turned the corner, we exchanged money for a contract and a car and we were ready to go! Although the prices for rental vehicles are extremely high at the moment, we were lucky and never got one so cheaply before! We only pay CHF 26.- per day ☺️.

The drive to Pai took almost three hours and we reached our destination around lunchtime.

Until we could move into our accommodation, we drove to a waterfall to relax a bit.

The waterfall was cute, but not really worth mentioning and the entrance fee is quite high for what is on offer.

No matter - after the waterfall we sat down in a cute restaurant and chatted with a few backpackers. We told them about the waterfall and we all burst out laughing.

After refreshment, it was already after 3 p.m. and we drove to our accommodation for the next few days.

The accommodation is really, really nice! Here it is called “Pai Basecamp” and it is located directly on a rice field. The view is wonderful and the facilities leave nothing to be desired!

We enjoyed the view for a while and made our way to a restaurant in the evening. We actually wanted to walk as it is only 700 meters away, but our host insisted on driving us. With his scooter, which had a spartan sidecar welded on and an alcohol level that gave us concerns... Nevertheless, we got on - luckily it's not far. We actually reached the restaurant and we didn't really like it, but our host was so happy with his service that we just sat down and ordered something there. The only strange thing was that the host didn't disappear... No…. He ordered another beer, tried to communicate with us in Thai, sat down at our table and watched us eat. Actually, the whole thing would have been pretty funny if we hadn't planned to consciously spend some time together 😅.

That was it for the romantic dinner, but we lit a fire in the accommodation and had a real campfire romance!

At 9 p.m. we fell asleep completely unexpectedly, which is why the blog is only published today ☺️

The pictures will follow, they will take some time at the moment until we really get the new camera under control ☺️

So dear ones, now let's go and experience something so that we have something to report in the evening 😉

See you there!!!!
