This morning we had breakfast delivered with a picnic basket and then started in full rain gear. We had about 4km to the final dike between the Wadden Sea and the IJsselmeer, which was about 30 km long. At the end of the dike, we had reached an average speed of 20.8 km/h. We had tailwind firstly, secondly we were protected on the left side of the dike, and thirdly we somehow got pulled along by the cars driving next to us. Just before the end, we unfortunately got caught in a rain shower. We had lunch in Harlingen and then only had about 9 km left to our destination today, Franeker. The accommodation is quite cute, although it has shared showers and toilets, but that's okay. We took a walk through this pretty little town, had 'Koffie veerkeerd' and cake, and now it's time to relax. We have a rest day here tomorrow.

Der Deich ist breiter als ich dachte - nur gut. Franeker scheint eine schöne Stadt zu sein. Da könnt ihr den Sonntag in Ruhe genießen. Vor allem die "romantische Kamer". Überhaupt könntet ihr einen Führer über die verschiedensten Schlafkammern in Westeuropa herausgeben - alles selbst getestet.Henry
Diese süßen Ortschaften, man könnte sich glatt verlieben.Die Häuser so abwechslungsreich und dann die schönen Himmelbetten, ich merke ,ihr habt keine Eile nach Hause. Euch einen verdienten erholsamen Sonntag.
