Today another properly planned trip. It was supposed to rain from midday, so we were in Pula at half past ten. At first glance, inconspicuous and not beautiful. But if you take a little time, you'll get there. Only with the Romans. The old theater is impressive. As if you could still hear the cheers of the audience and the groans of the gladiators. Much much later with the Habsburg monarchy, which must have felt at least as comfortable here as the Romans. Pula was THE military port of the empire in the middle of the 19th century. If you stroll further you will come through old houses with tourist shop displays, to the beautiful market hall and quite well-attended cafés.
