8-Day Moosman

E phatlaladitšwe: 27.12.2017

Finally sunny

Today I had a wonderful day. I took the ferry from Rose Bay to Circular Quay and then went to Mosman. The ferry ride alone is already a pleasure. You go straight towards the Opera House and the Bridge.

Moosman is also a particularly beautiful neighborhood, with beautiful sandy beaches and lovely old small houses. In contrast to Vaucluse, my neighborhood, here on the shores there are proper mansions, some of them similar to our Villa Allwind on Lake Constance. I then walked across the peninsula to the beach and then back along the shore to the Tooronga ferry terminal, where the big Sydney Zoo is located. But I didn't visit it this time. I was quite active again, I managed to walk almost 20 kilometers. So, back to Circular Quay. From there, I walked to the Rocks. That's the former port area, which has now been completely renovated with beautiful shops and restaurants.

Then back home by ferry. Sat on the ferry in the sun and enjoyed the wind, not realizing that I was on the wrong ferry. I ended up back in Moosman. But it doesn't matter, I have time, I'll just take the next ferry back and then the ferry to Vaucluse. When I arrived there, it was almost 8 o'clock in the evening. I then took the bus and during the ride, I actually saw the sun setting. Or rather, a completely red sun was over Sydney. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a photo because the bus was shaking so much. So, the sun sets over the Blue Mountains, which means there is no typical sunset by the sea. But it must be spectacular in part, when the clouds are illuminated like that. By the way, the red bicycles are standing all over Sydney and you can use them for free. There are also yellow bicycles, but you have to enter a code. Well, it was a beautiful day for a very happy Roswitha.
