Foreword:
One of us is speaking:
'Today it's your turn!'
That's why today's report comes
In the form of a poem.
To express oneself in this way,
You often have to pick the words.
That's why the sentence adjustment is sometimes minimal, sometimes max.,
So please excuse the orthography and syntax.
But now we want to start
And no longer wait.
For you and especially my little niece,
This is how today's story begins...
It is morning and the waves are crashing,
I would rather continue listening to the pillow.
But with a jolt we get out of bed,
Because it's Christmas and the day will be nice.
First we strengthen ourselves with breakfast,
So that we only notice later.
Today is the 24th of December,
'a day we will always remember'.
Because instead of decorated Christmas trees,
There are countless beaches with palm tree dreams here.
Now we defy the Christmas rain
And continue to explore the island with Freddy.
Well, exploring is exaggerated,
Because it has stayed at an average of 25mph.
Today we are taking a tour of the island,
So we certainly won't save any gasoline.
But who would blame us in America,
Here you calculate and fill up in complete barrels.
First we see some dogs again,
Who are also going for a walk.
Next we see a natural spectacle,
Water shoots up without a flaw.
Impressive rock formations are also there,
But the responsible volcano is gone.
We continue on the winding coastal road,
But it slowly narrows down to fit our car.
Passing would be a torture for some drivers,
But we solve this with skill.
Suddenly a lava dome protrudes into the sea,
We are very tempted to explore it.
So we put on our shoes,
And our legs won't get any rest either.
At the foot there is a small village,
Built on lava rock and peat.
It seems pretty dead here,
But we buy delicious nuts and banana bread.
Soon we have completed 3/4 of the way,
Thanks to Freddy's driving force.
And because of the Christmas celebration,
We take a break.
Finally we go shopping in Lahaina
And of course we also go swimming in the sea.
The weather is gradually getting milder
And we take more great pictures.
At home we don't go to bed yet,
No, we're having raclette!
We even decorated a tree in the living room,
And we are really delighted.
This Christmas is a special celebration,
The ambiance and the temperature exhaust us.
We are truly content after today
And thank the Christkind very much.
So, that's it now,
Now we're finished reading.
We visibly tired take a break,
Because tomorrow we have to get up early again.
