After a delicious breakfast, we set off south from Salzburg at high noon in the scorching heat.
The 33 degrees and more were faithful companions throughout the entire trip. 🥵
Actually, the trip to Bled takes about 2 hours.
Due to the completely unexpected wave of travel, we were on the road for more than 4 hours. But all in all, no problem, just a bit of a letdown.🥴
When we arrived in Bled, we checked into our accommodation, the "Old Bled House". A very nice, rustic converted barn or something similar. Definitely very individual, just the way we like it. The first contact was also great.🤝
After a quick visit to the local SPAR (toothpaste and water) we strolled to the pretty Lake Bled. 🏞It's really picturesque.
But tourists from near and far have also discovered this place for themselves.
But we mainly use the place as a "base station" for our activities.
Of course we have to go around, to the castle and to the island. And jump in a minor way.
And don't forget to try the legendary "Bled slices".
Of course only where it was invented in the Café Park.
There we had a delicious dinner on the terrace with a view of the lake.
But most visitors ordered these cream slices (8 p.m.). Must be something really special. We'll see.
We had ribs and shrimp.
We ended the evening on the rooftop of the "Pub Bled".
Incredibly warm!
Our accommodation also includes a great restaurant...
There is still a lot to discover here.
We're looking forward to it!
Stay tuned
