Hello! 😎
Sorry that I haven't uploaded anything in a while. There's just been so much going on in my life. But I'll tell you about it now. ☺️
This blog is about my family's (except my brother) visit from Germany. They managed to make it across the border in these crazy times. I wasn't sure if it would work out until a few weeks ago. It stressed me out sometimes not knowing if I'd be able to see my family between the years or if I'd have to wait until next year. That's why I'm really grateful for the time I had. 😇🙏🏻
So we had 10 days now where my parents and my little sister came over to visit me and also be part of my graduation ceremony. But that's for another blog.
The last week, us students were still being prepared for some things because most of the students will be leaving. There will only be 5 students left for the coming year. And I'm one of them! 😅
So I had a graduation dinner with my dear friend Abby, as we've worked together for a long time in media. At Chick-Fil-A in Erie, I placed an order under my name and guess what it said? SAMOMB was on my order! 😂 No one has ever written my name like that before. 😅
It's quite exciting to have a different role for the coming year and to guide and support those who will be here at the ranch for their first year. 🙂 Of course, I'll still have classes. But there will be fewer of them and most of the classes will be separate from the new students. I'm looking forward to spending more time in my media area and learning even more. 📸
But now let's get back to my family visit. We tried to spend as much time together as possible, even though I was still busy at times. I was also asked if I could create a video where I interview all the students for the end-of-year video. It shows what the students have learned and how they felt about the year. :) You can see the link to the video in the next blog.
My family and I also finally managed to visit Niagara Falls together. It was so cool to see the falls in a different season. Everything was so green now. I'll never forget my family's excitement when they saw the falls for the first time. In the evening, we were invited by a staff member and we had apples with liquid caramel and chocolate on top. It was delicious! If you ever get the chance, you should try it! 🙂
At the ranch itself, we also took a hayride over the family camp and at the end of the evening, we had a campfire where I definitely have to share a funny story! It goes like this: we were all sitting around the campfire and talking. Of course, after such a long time, there was a lot to talk about, and we mostly spoke in German. This caught the attention of the Americans and suddenly everyone in the circle was looking at us and it got really quiet. While my mom was still talking to me, I realized that everyone was looking at us. 😂 Many of them asked us questions afterward. 😅 I thought it was really funny and I had to try hard not to laugh because my mom was so engrossed in the conversation and didn't notice at first. 😂😜
Alright, that's it for this blog! 🙃
See you soon! ☺️
