Hey!
There is a new update for you.
I've really settled in with the student's family now. The parents are really nice to me and if I need something, I just have to say something. 😃
Relatively at the beginning we already walked around outside and looked at the Christmas lights. I have to say that I was amazed at some of the houses. There were houses that really had strings of lights or other decorations hanging everywhere - in every place. Also typical here are all the figures that light up. Some have the whole garden full of them. 😅😂 I personally find a bit 'too much'. But so you know it by many American films. :) Beautiful decorations are but in any case. 😍
On Sunday we went to visit the sister and her husband. The two live in Lynchburg. It's a bigger town in Virginia. On the way there I just saw a sheriff car. Of course I had to take a picture of it right away. The sheriff had a cowboy hat on and that's how he left. 😂 Have also made there again a little Christmas shopping. 🎄
Last Monday I heard from my family that now my second guinea pig has passed away too. 😔 Sometimes you just don't know why things happen at times like this. I always tell myself 'acceptance is the first road to recovery!'.
The family I live with right now also has animals. A dog, a cat and a bird (see picture). Sometimes he can be a real pain when he has his five minutes and whistles. 🧐
Tuesday and Thursday we were at the stable. The student's mother is a riding instructor. After the work was done, we got to ride. It was so cool to canter again ☺️ And then we also jumped. I'll tell you what... That is so fun to jump over. The obstacles were not quite as high, but the feeling was still there. I would like to learn show jumping properly again. I only had dressage lessons in Germany.😉
Last Thursday we were then picked up by the grandma. Since we have no wifi at the student at home and can only work on our projects with difficulty, we are now for three days at the grandma, because the grandma has wifi.
I am always amazed when I see a supermarket from the inside. On one picture you can see a whole aisle with only cornflakes and on the second picture a whole aisle with all different kinds of chips. Isn't that crazy? 😂 You need forever to decide on a variety or to find your variety ... 😉
Wish you a wonderful rest of Advent! We have no Advent wreath here. 😢
See you! 😊
