I'm going home soon and I'm so excited to see Nico, my family, friends, and Christmas (and my own bed!)!

I had a wonderful ending to my trip with Esther in a sky bar (the one from Hangover Part II!) with excellent cocktails and breathtaking views of Bangkok at night. And we went back to our beloved mango restaurant!

She went on to another island and I spent the last day relaxing and getting massages to escape the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. (That didn't quite work because I wanted to visit the Grand Palace and a market, which was rather awful due to the crowds.) But the spa afterwards made up for it! 😉

I will miss Esther very much! We had so many great days together. Hopefully we will stay in touch and I will visit her in Rome. 😊

Just before the end of the journey, I had a little shock: I forgot my personal travel diary that Katharina gave me and in which I wrote down all my thoughts and feelings during the trip in Sukhothai!!! Apparently, I dropped it and didn't notice it on the dark wooden floor. I called there somewhat upset. They found it and kept it. That was already good. Thank goodness there was an ultra kind and helpful receptionist with good English skills at my new guesthouse in Bangkok. She called the other hotel for me and arranged for it to be sent to the hotel by express mail on Monday. Since I had to leave the hotel for the airport on Tuesday (this evening at 6:00 PM), it was very close. But she promised to send it to me in Vienna if it arrives later. I was somewhat skeptical that it would work out, but miraculously and thanks to the kind Thai woman, the diary actually found its way back to me in Bangkok and arrived in time before my departure!!!! I felt a weight lifted off my chest. The story fits well into Thailand's motto: "In the end, everything always works out!" 😊

And now I'm about to board the plane to go home to my Nico!! 😃
