Today we want to go into the city and look around a bit. We decide to drive only to the nearest park-and-ride lot and then take the train into the center. We know that parking in the city is quite expensive, so it's better to use public transport and also save the stress of driving on the left side in New Zealand's largest city. Already when getting into the rental car, it becomes clear where we come from: we instinctively head to the wrong side of the car to get in. Anyone watching us would know by now that we are neither New Zealanders, Australians, nor English... :-)
We travel for 5 euros per person for a good 45 minutes from Maurewa in the south of the city to the city center - that's acceptable. The trains and stations are very clean and comfortable. Some German cities could learn a lesson from this...
