Bošego bjo bongwe kua Franschhoek

E phatlaladitšwe: 29.03.2021

After a small trip to Signal Hill on Friday (including touching the clouds) and a long walk along the Seapoint promenade, it was time to leave the city for one night on Saturday.

The famous wine region is only about 1.5 hours drive from Cape Town, but to explore everything in peace, I decided to stay overnight in a lodge. Thanks to the wonderful view, a relaxed time by the pool, and a delicious breakfast on Sunday, this was the perfect decision.

On Saturday after breakfast, I started my day and spent it directly until check-in in Franschhoek. Just like in Stellenbosch, which I visited a few years ago, the cityscape is characterized by typical Cape Dutch houses - together with the mountains on the horizon, I just can't get enough of it!

In the evening, I went to the city for dinner and then there was open-air live music in a bar - especially after the last few months, it felt very unusual to see people dancing together, enjoying themselves, and getting drunk.

On Sunday, after a relaxed breakfast and another hour by the pool, I spent some time at Babylonstoren, one of the oldest wine farms in South Africa. This winery, which also grows numerous other types of fruit and vegetables, is definitely worth a visit with its gardens and the opportunity for various wine tastings. I chose the tour, including a tasting of 10 different wines, and enjoyed every second.
