Coast and ice arenas

E phatlaladitšwe: 25.02.2018

Hockey finals day: Germany - Russia. This was also the day for us to go to the coast and see its cluster. First, this meant taking a bus ride to the coast for about an hour. The coast made up for the journey. The sandy beach was very impressive. After walking through the sand and admiring the art sculptures, we went up to the 20th floor of the hotel, where the IOC members are also accommodated. There, I was able to drink the most expensive 'hot chocolate' so far, for about 12 Swiss francs. At least there was a small nut cake with it.

We spent the early afternoon at the ice arenas, which are located in close proximity to each other.

But the highlight of today was the market in Gangeung. Food, vegetables, and everything your heart desires.

In the evening, after a somewhat tiring journey back, we were invited to have an aperitif with our technicians. It was a very cozy gathering. Fredy had a lot to tell and cracked a few jokes.

P.S. Germany narrowly missed the sensation - they were leading one minute before the end and even had a power play. In the end, the Russians secured the victory in overtime.
