Today we went to Peniche, a coastal town about 1.5 hours away from Lisbon with several surf schools. Before the trip, we imagined a day at the beach with sun, blue sea, and warm water. After the start of this trip, we almost knew that the day wouldn't go perfectly: Instead of blue skies, there was gray, and instead of sun, drizzle, wind, and 16° C. At least the announced thunderstorm didn't happen....
So, despite the weather, some brave ones ventured into the cold water.
The rain and wind subsided a little, and after a refreshment in the beach bar, we headed back to Lisbon.
After warming up a bit in the hostel, we went back out into the drizzle.
We walked to the market hall on the banks of the Tejo, where there were many specialties and even more people crowded into the large hall, enjoying their dinner or a glass of wine at one of the long tables.
Then we had to climb uphill again and wandered through streets with many restaurants and bars.
We stayed in one of them, enjoying the live music and escaping the increasingly heavy rain.
