Sunburn and birthday cake :)

Hello!

I am really exhausted today. So much has happened, so please forgive me if I write something incoherent.

Today is my birthday and since we arrived here, everyone has been asking me what I want to do. The suggestion from the girls here was to go to the beach. You can imagine that I was totally excited about the idea. (because see photos!)

Last night, the first people from Germany already congratulated me, and they say it brings bad luck. But in Germany it was already the 3rd of September, so I would describe it as a 'gray area'.

When I came into the kitchen this morning, I didn't notice anything at first and I had to be practically pushed into it. My name was hanging on one wall and there were flowers all around it. I think I bumped into it yesterday when they made it, but I only noticed it when I saw it on the wall.

We went to the beach by taxi and bus, which, it must be mentioned, is cooled almost too much.

Once we arrived, nothing could hold us back and as soon as we put our backpacks under an umbrella, especially us Germans, we went into the water faster than we could properly apply sunscreen. I did apply sunscreen well once before we left home, but then I only obediently put it on my face. That is actually especially sensitive, but now the only place where I don't have a sunburn...

I can of course tell you how great it was, but you can also just look at the pictures ;)

Fortunately, Anna has a waterproof phone case.

We started our journey back home at 4 p.m., and we even had Wi-Fi on the bus.

At home, Anna and I were in charge of cooking for the first time today. It's really not easy to see what's there and cook from it instead of going shopping specifically for it. Of course, you can get things that are missing. But I think, and it was also emphasized to us several times, that we did a pretty good job, RIGHT Anna?

After dinner, when the table was slowly being cleared, the lights suddenly went out. I was about to get up, when they came in singing and with a cake. I almost cried... but only almost!

Pictures of this will follow!

And then we had beer and later the Focolare girls came to visit. (for those who don't know who they are: http://www.fokolar-bewegung.de/seite/ueber-uns)
They brought a little dog with them and we spent the rest of the evening giving the dog a name.

Now the Focolare girls and Blue (the dog) are gone and everyone is doing something else :D .

Bye !
