🇬🇧 English version below
Tour data: Distance 118 kilometers (cum. 2,850 km), Ø 21.5 km/h, driving time 5:25 hours
Weather: Today it was really warm and mostly very sunny. Some clouds had elongated virgas clearly visible and a few drops even hit the ground.
Yesterday evening I experienced a wonderful sunset at the sea. You can find a photo of it in the photos. Since there was no safe place for my eBike, I had to leave it outside and secure it. I have a black tarpaulin with me to make the eBike 'invisible' in such situations. There is a photo of that too. can you find my bike?
No matter what my surroundings are, I always sleep soundly. Thanks to that, I'm always really relaxed in the morning and fit for another day tour, even if it goes well over 100 kilometers. Yesterday evening I was planning to drive to Helmstad today. However, I did not book an overnight stay. On the whole tour I always found something. Today I did some research about 40 kilometers from Helmstad. I found a hostel for only about €39 with a private bathroom and cooking facilities. I expected a dump, I found a great room that even has room for my eBike. For me, this is the best value for money I've ever had on the whole trip. I'm lying here on the bed, writing this report and feeling great.
Some people were surprised that I was traveling alone, i.e. unaccompanied or in a group. Today I met 2 women from Germany and I defined it to them like this: Although I'm traveling alone, I don't feel that way and certainly not lonely. On the contrary, I have many companions, one of them is you! I enjoy taking you with me and telling you about the day and showing you the photos that I very often take just for you. But you are not the only person, many other friends and relatives accompany me. Thank you all for your mental support.
At the moment there are only a few cyclists on a big tour. Very rarely do I see someone who also has a lot of luggage with them. I have a pennant with the Swiss flag mounted on my backpack to show where I come from. This flag gave me a nice encounter today. Along the way I saw a colorful hut with lots of signposts that I really wanted to take a photo of. Two women had the same idea and I greeted them with the Swedish 'Hej'. But then one of the two women saw that I was from Switzerland and spoke to me in German. Later we introduced each other and I'm still happy that I met Silke and Kerstin. Encounters like this enrich my journey. Unfortunately, there have not been many so far, as it is still too cold for most of them and it is not yet the holiday season.
Today's journey often went along near the sea. There was a beautiful harbor to see and I had my lunch on a sandy beach, which one only expects in the south. Especially at this beach the infrastructure was very good and the toilets are very clean.
Although it's Sunday, many shops are open and I took the opportunity to do some shopping twice. However, I made a bad purchase; I bought sour milk instead of regular milk. Not necessarily my favorite food.
For the second time I have seen an airfield with sports aircraft, but only on the ground. And that on a Sunday with the best flight conditions. I haven't seen a small plane in the air yet either. This airport also seems to have scheduled flights, at least there is a terminal.
Shortly afterwards I reached Helmstad. Driving through the city, I got a little insight and of course took a few photos for you. My hotel is at the other end of town. For me ideal for tomorrow's onward journey
