In the morning we considered whether, given our sunburns, we would actually go to Sentosa Island and thus to Palawan Beach as planned. In the end we decided to do it because the weather was just too good 😅😅🙈.
The taxi driver drove as if all the Singapore police officers were after us, but we arrived unscathed. Phew 😅.
The beach is really beautiful and there was relatively little going on. There are some shaded areas, which we were very happy about, and the entire beach is extremely clean. However, the sand is very hot and the water is relatively warm - but still relatively cool to the surrounding air. There are signs everywhere telling you not to feed the monkeys 😅. Apart from black giant flies that are around 7-8 cm in size, we didn't meet any other animals 😃. The tropical climate is really harsh and you just sweat all day - it felt like it was even worse on the island - but maybe that's the case 🤷🏼♂️. In this respect, we were only able to stay in the sun for a relatively short time. It sucks the energy out of our bodies, so to speak. We discovered a small, narrow suspension bridge. Of course we walked over it and visited another section of the beach. There was a small tower there that I crawled up and took a few photos. It was really cool 👍🏻.
There are toilets with showers nearby and everything is totally clean. There is a kiosk next door from which we picked up “After Sun”. In addition, the footpaths are usually even covered. Crazy 😅👍🏻. There are a few things to do or see on the island. For example, we scouted out food carts with different menus right next to each other. Of course we jumped at it. Fans are standing around or installed everywhere. Even the taxi driver had two set up on the center arm console and aimed at the rear seats.
After fortifying ourselves with a meal, we headed to the cable car station. We noticed this on the way to the island and wanted to use it for part of the way back. From Sentosa Island it runs across the river and back to the mainland.
The tension is rising... When we went around the corner and saw the gondolas, we had to grin a little. Pokeballs are pictured on it 😅. Pikachu smiled at us from the gondola. That was really cute. In the middle of the river is the arm or pillar to which the gondolas are initially pulled up. So it keeps going higher... 😃. You were already pretty high. The harbor can be clearly seen from up there and the taller buildings of Singapore. I don't know if you can say skyscraper because the government has legally limited the height because of the airplanes.
Afterwards we took a taxi back to the hotel (for less than $10) and rested. The “After Sun” was used 😅. In the evening we went to the river again to dine, but there wasn't anything else 😅.
Kind regards and good morning ☀️
