First days at work and the weekend in Dublin

E phatlaladitšwe: 30.10.2016

On Monday I started working at the HPe company. The day started with signing the contract of employment and continued with an introduction given by the HR department. During the following days, we received development training, especially in technical skills. We learned how to troubleshoot several problems, such as network issues or printer issues. It was very challenging for me because I didn't have an IT background and because of the new language. Overall, it was very interesting, and I learned a lot of new things. I am very happy and looking forward to the next week. In the next week, I will receive special desk training. In addition to work, I started going to football training, which was pretty nice. On Friday, I went to some pubs with my new colleagues Paul and Herman. They are from Ireland and Sweden. The other guys who are staying at our home too joined us in the late evening. We had lots of fun and several good discussions.

Yesterday, I went to Dublin to meet Mayra, who is the Clissmann family's new au pair, and the other German au pairs from Arklow. Herman joined us later. Then we went to a pub where I tried my first Irish Coffee. It's coffee and whiskey, and it tastes very good. Afterwards, we went to a restaurant at Temple Bar for dinner.

We spent the evening in Lucan. I am really happy that I got to know so many young people after only 2 weeks. Today, I am going to watch the football match between Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. See you, Julian!
