Whiskey from the hell

E phatlaladitšwe: 20.06.2023

Today after an Irish breakfast (sausages, potato wedges, mushrooms, baked beans, etc.), which takes some getting used to, departure from the City Hotel.

The city tour was really interesting. So many impressions, information and stories that you can't remember everything. Trinity College, Book of Kells, the smallest pub Dawsons Lounge (11 people fit in), the oldest Viking pub, birthplace of Oscar Wilde, Phoenix Park, Guinness Brewery (lease agreement for 9000 years), church where Dracula got married, as well as the hotel of U2 and much more.

Then you could see in the district 'The Hell' in the Whiskey Distillery Liberties how whiskey is distilled and stored. This district was separated in the Middle Ages by a fence with a gate on which a devil's head was displayed. A forbidden area 'The hell,' and today the Liberties company calls their whiskey 'from the hell.' There were also 3 different aged samples, just right for breakfast.

According to the bus driver, the weather is a typical Irish summer. Changing every 10 minutes, and really intense ... Jacket on and off, a few drops, heavy rain and then suddenly very warm again.

On the way to Ballinasloe to the next location, there was the old monastery settlement Clonmacnoise. 1400 years old, completely destroyed 27 times and rebuilt 27 times. Today it is a place of pilgrimage. It's really impressive what has been preserved there and there is a strangely peaceful atmosphere.

So today's destination reached and landed in a mega hotel.
