After arriving in Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia, by minivan, we took a tuk-tuk to our hostel. The hostel costs only €5 per person per night, but it feels almost like a luxury hotel. Overjoyed with the hostel, we set off on foot into the city. First to the Independence Monument, then to a statue of the former king, and then to the really huge Mekong River. There we strolled along the river promenade for a while. At the end of this promenade, we randomly came across an amusement park.
After the sun had set, we went to a BBQ restaurant. The special thing here was that you grill the meat yourself at the table. Naturally, there was a 3-liter beer tower with this meal.
Feeling full and happy from the food, we returned to our cozy hostel at night.
