GOOD MORNING MONDAY!!!... it said.
And after we strolled around and finished Skype, we wondered what we could do today. This time it was Marius's turn to plan the day according to his taste. After a 'Idea Coffee', we got in the car and drove up the coast towards Sanibel Island. However, this time Marius didn't want to go to the beach, but wanted to check out some trousers in an outlet. Well, I certainly won't say no to that. And let me tell you, always remember: ask at the center office for a bonus booklet!!! This way, you get discounts on discounts. However, with the current exchange rate, you don't really save much. So shopping isn't really cheap.
After we had visited all the places of interest and had a little lunch, we got back in the car and headed back towards Naples. But this time, instead of taking the highway, we followed the coastline and got an overview of FORT MEYERS BEACH: Along the coastal road, the town appears colorful, open, active, and probably nocturnal ;) It is probably more of a holiday resort for a different generation than the one in Naples. ;)
When we returned in the late afternoon, Frederik took a long bath and then the day was already over.
For Tuesday, we planned a trip to a small water park just 15 minutes away. The SUN N FUN LAGOON. Unfortunately, we arrived a little too early, but we passed the time on a very nice playground. Frederik felt very comfortable in the park. Who doesn't like cool water in this heat? You really can't complain about the entrance fee of 13 dollars per person! Although we could only stay there for 2.5 hours because Frederik would have fallen asleep standing up.
It was beautiful! :)
After the afternoon nap, we strolled around the cool apartment a bit and then set off to look for a few things in a hardware store.
To make up for the typical bad pool food, we cooked something delicious for dinner and realized once again: When you give a child something with onions, garlic, and gravy sauce, he eats until you're afraid he'll burst at any moment. So mission accomplished, child fed and happy. :)
To find the right destination for a trip to Florida, you should ask yourself 'Am I more of a sunrise or sunset type? Do I prefer surfing or building sandcastles?' - Those who, like us, prefer sunsets and sandcastles, choose the West Coast!
We have already done a lot with the sand, so now it was time for the sunset! And so, despite our very precise time management with the little one, we went to the beach around 7:45 pm. And it was sooooo worth it!!!
A few other people gathered on the beach, each with their folding chair or picnic blanket, a drink, a book, a camera, or something similar. It had a bit of a holy New Year's Eve atmosphere as we all watched the low-hanging sun and waited and enjoyed. Well, the others were waiting more. We had to constantly fish Frederik out of the sea because he didn't understand that you should only splash around with your feet when wearing pants and a shirt. But well, it was still really nice for all of us! When the sun sank those last few centimeters and then disappeared, Frederik was really amazed and paused for a moment, as if he was thinking about what had just happened and what we had told him. Very cute! ;)
We were back around 9 pm, showered our sandy child again, put him to bed, and now I'm sitting here typing.
But now I'm going to wrap it up and hopefully soon dream of this perfect evening. :)
