On the bus ride, we immediately experienced the warmth and hospitality of the Ticos (Costa Ricans) when, after a conversation, we were offered a visit to a vacation rental. Arriving in Drake Bay, we relaxed for a while before exploring the beautiful beaches and cozy village. The significant price increase prompted us to stock up on groceries, so we managed quite well on our own. A long hike through the beautiful jungle landscape was planned for the next day. Unfortunately, our plans were repeatedly interrupted by heavy rain showers, but it was still a great trip. The next day, it rained again and our trip back was adventurous. We actually only wanted to drive an hour to the north, but we never would have believed that it would take five hours. The bus infrastructure is really difficult. After 4 pm, nothing really works anymore...! On the first bus, we made friends with a Tico who walked with us to the bus companies to take us to Uvita. No success, but we met two Ticos who also wanted to go to Uvita and spontaneously shared a taxi with them. Of course, they negotiated an unbeatable local price for us (25€ instead of 40€), which was very advantageous for us, in addition to the fun company.
