Days 44 to 47 Flight Quellon to Puerto Chacabuco and overnight in Coyhaique

E phatlaladitšwe: 09.01.2024

Day 44

Broken and tired, we took the bus to Quellen in the evening - as I said - the ferry was supposed to leave here at 11 p.m.... In an old pub, a number of locals were having fun - our luck - we got something to eat at 10 p.m and drinks were very affordable. Finally in Chile... we also had the perfect view of the Pierre.

At one o'clock - the boat was still not there - the pub closed and asked us to leave. Well. Now it was time to wait outside at just under 5 degrees. Gentlemanly, I sacrificed my jacket to Laura. A dog came along and wanted to cuddle with Laura the whole time. So she certainly wasn't freezing. At 3.30 the time had finally come. The ferry could be seen on the horizon. What we didn't know - first all the pedestrians out - then the cars. Then load something then something else and something else and something more and and and. The nicest thing was - when the pedestrians left the ferry, Petrus said he had to go to the toilet - so we got on board at 5 o'clock. And yes, my slippers were already wet...

We then drove off promptly and the snoring began. Really great concert. At some point I joined in and laid down in a row of five. Luckily everything was free.

Day 45

The ferry sailed through its fjords and it looked like Norway. Really crude. The weather was great and you could relax around the ship and enjoy the view. The prices for the food were ok and the tea was delicious. There was also a small arcade machine. Towards the evening things got exciting again. 20 police officers stormed the boat. In Germany, farmers storm boats, as far as we noticed ;). Drug control. Nobody is allowed to leave the ship. Everything was searched with dogs and we were able to continue our journey. Whether someone called the police because a person thought he was smoking a joint right under the captain :D

So even more delay. But perfect for us - otherwise we would have actually arrived in Puerto Chacabuco at 3:30. So we were able to sleep very relaxed and disembark at 7am.

Day 46

Once we got off the boat, we started looking for the right bus. That was harder than expected. Because on Saturdays the buses run the way they run, we were told 😱

A friendly Chilean then called his friend who happened to have a bus. Mega. Off we went to Aysen. There we immediately caught the bus to Coyhaique. We drove this way for just under 6 euros. A taxi should cost 80 euros and more.

When we arrived at the hotel we enjoyed our peace and quiet. Met two Germans and a cat. She lived in the house. Which is of course great if you have problems with your hair. But a blessing in disguise. I didn't get a cold 😀

Day 47

There could be something here now. But we just spent our Sunday relaxing.
