1. Stop: New York

E phatlaladitšwe: 23.07.2018

The ESTA visa had one good thing going for it. It not only allows for a layover at the airport, but also for a stay in the USA. Of course, you take advantage of this during a ten-hour layover in one of the craziest cities in the world!

Walking the streets of New York is completely different from Vienna. Everything is bigger; the buildings, the crowds, and everything is busier. The traffic is crazy and the people are different. Unfortunately, there wasn't much time, because you never know what to expect at the airport security check! We only had time for Times Square and the Empire State Building, but that alone was enough to fall in love with this bustling metropolis (see photos). It seems like there's nothing that doesn't exist there, you can encounter every type of person and everything seems possible, from incredible wealth to extreme poverty. Living in a city like this must be pretty stressful!

After arriving at the airport way too early, we took the midnight flight to Bogotá, the next huge city and the capital of our actual destination: Colombia.
