A few days later, we rented a car again and went on the next road trip from December 10th to 12th. This time, we went to Phillip Island, about 2 hours east of Melbourne.
We spent our first day exploring the most beautiful spots on the small island and then embarked on a 5-hour hike on the beach, ending with a hike up a mountain for sunset. 🌅
On the second day, we visited the attractions there. We went to a wildlife park where we could feed and pet koalas, wallabies, and kangaroos. After that, we went to a small peninsula next to Phillip Island called 'Churchill Island', where there was a large farm to explore and several daily farm tasks demonstrations to watch. In the evening, we went to the beach where all the penguins come out of the water to go home to their families. There were hundreds of penguins walking in small groups with their proud height of 33cm. They were incredibly cute! 🐧
We spent the third and last day on Phillip Island as a beach day. We visited several beaches, got beautifully tanned, and also watched a pelican feeding. Finally, we returned to Melbourne.
