Conquer one last island for the vacation...

E phatlaladitšwe: 09.11.2019

At 11 o'clock we were driven to the pier with the hotel shuttle service (for 300 Baht, of course), which we reached at 11:20 o'clock, which means we were 1.5 hours early, but the hotel insisted on this transfer time. At 12:50 o'clock our ferry arrived and we continued to Koh Tao, with no idea what to expect, because according to rumors, Koh Tao is now a party island. Thanks to the free shuttle, it was no problem getting to the resort on this island. This time we decided to spend a little more money and booked a hotel room with a sea view and breakfast at the Pinnacle Hotel. The expectations were also fully met this time, large, clean, and with a great view. Since it was already 4 pm, we just looked for a scooter, visited my chosen diving base, had some food, and then went to bed after a delicious shake. Unfortunately, breakfast at Marius' place was disappointing again, the toast was dry, there was too little butter on the plate, and it simply didn't taste good to him. I was glad to have toast with cheese instead of just butter and Marmalade.so. Expectations and tastes differ there, but at least there was a delicious fruit plate with pineapple, melon, and dragon fruit. After that, we took advantage of the time at the pool because I had to be at the diving base at 12:45 to make my desired dives in Thailand on 07.11.2019 with Rainbow Divers, a German diving school. On the boat, there were of course only Germans, but it was really fun. The first dive went down to 12.6m at Aow Leuk and the second dive went down to 16.8m at Shark Island. Both very different dive sites, the first one with a sandy bottom and a few corals around which the fish gather, and the second one, a rock standing in the sea surrounded by corals and fish up to about 20m deep. Each dive lasted about 50 minutes, and I could have dived longer with the air in the tank, but you have to consider your buddies. On the ship, there were sweet pineapples as well as coffee, tea, and water, because after diving, it's not called 'stay hydrated' for nothing. Overall, I can say that I'm damn glad I did the dives. The underwater world is not as colorful as in Egypt, but there were different colored sea anemones and corals to see, as well as my beloved barracudas. In the evening, I had my typical ear problems again after diving in such warm waters, but luckily there are good and relatively cheap over-the-counter remedies in the pharmacies here, just like in Australia (ear drops for five days of use cost the equivalent of 17 euros. Seeing a doctor alone would already cost 30 euros in advance, and every word he exchanges with you also costs money, so it's good that there are pharmacies here). Also, for me, after diving, it is tradition to have a good dinner, preferably pizza or pasta, and this wish was fulfilled. We had pizza at an Italian who emigrated to Thailand. For me, a vegetarian spinach pizza with homemade ricotta and feta, and Marius had a Pizza Quattro Formaggi. After that, we strolled through the party mile of Koh Tao, ate a crepe with banana and Nutella as dessert, and then went back to our accommodation. Before that, we had a massage and an aloe vera treatment for sunburned, dry, and red skin. In the accommodation, Marius had bought wine and snacks for us, which rounded off a great day perfectly. New morning and new breakfast. This time only cornflakes for Marius, and he was even less satisfied, so breakfast outside is planned for tomorrow. After eating, we went to the hotel beach, let our souls dangle and read comfortably because at 2:30 p.m., we had to start our chosen island highlight. A cooking class at 'Thai Cooking with Joy,' with our chosen Thai dishes (spring rolls, Massaman curry, and Tom Kha Gai). Luckily, we were alone in the cooking school, so our teacher Joy had time just for us and explained everything to us in detail. We will definitely cook all the dishes at home, although I will have to get some ingredients at an Asian shop. It was a totally great experience, and all the dishes tasted amazing to us. Each of us prepared our own soup and curry with the desired level of spiciness. I would recommend this event to anyone who has the chance. We were only two because it's low season, otherwise, such courses would have to be booked in advance. In the evening, we went back to the main town, I had my nails done, and Marius treated himself to a massage. To finish off the evening, we had Berry Rose and Pineapple Cider right on the beach. 09.11.2019 and in the morning, we went out to eat at the Factory Café. Chocolate banana pancakes for Marius and Chico Lovers Bowl for me. Such a great breakfast is awesome. After that, we just wanted to do nothing today, so we took the scooter to a beach (it's hard to find beaches here that are free), grabbed two beach chairs, and spent the day snorkeling, sunbathing, and reading. On the way back to the hotel, we got soaked because it naturally had to rain again. So quickly take a hot shower and then try to reheat yesterday's food (the delicious leftovers from the homemade meal) in the kettle, in which Marius put a cup. Conclusion, it worked and it was really delicious again. So the last real day on the island ended, with wine on the balcony and the last attempt to find the sunset, but again without success. PS: I can only provide you with underwater pictures later, because I took them with the underwater camera, and it can't be connected to the phone yet.
