Throughout our journey, we are constantly impressed by the openness and friendliness of the people here. In addition to normal small talk, there is genuine interest in our life in Germany.
Today we had a very special experience!
Debby, our waitress in Clinton, spontaneously invited us to her property 7 km away to show the children her animals. There were horses, donkeys, little chicks, goats, and of course dogs. Unfortunately, the bear mom with her 3 cubs, who are said to appear here from time to time, did not show up. As a finale, Clemens was allowed to test the tractor and we got to see the self-built house. A successful change of pace!
Afterwards, we continue northwards on the Gold Rush Trail to Williams Lake. On a smaller detour, we discover two fawns in the tall grass.
In Williams Lake, we take a walk through the Scout Island Nature Centre and have a picnic in the sun by the lake.
Since we need to replenish our supplies, shopping is on the agenda in the afternoon, and to the delight of the children, there is a toy store with Pokémon cards! The world is small!
