The farewell is coming...

A long year of preparation and anticipation is coming to an end. Our Knut is ready and my last day of work is over. A beautiful farewell party was celebrated in the practice. Everyone who is close to me through the practice came. Slowly I realize that it's really going to start soon. At this point, I would like to say thank you again. Thank you to my colleagues and bosses for their support, motivation and of course farewell gifts. Thank you to the Gessner family for your 'Project Sandra'. Thank you to everyone else in our house and to our patients for their contribution to the travel fund. I was very moved and had 'tears' in my eyes at times. It's great to receive so much appreciation and encouragement. I will miss you all.

The Südkurier was there and wrote a great article.... (funny that we already met the reporter on a small island in Denmark 2 years ago. The world is a small place... Thank you Claudia for the wonderful article... it was great to see you again.

We celebrated a wonderful farewell party with Kilian's colleagues and bosses in our 'Backstube'. Thank you all for coming and thank you for the many great gifts... especially for your great idea Thomas, to give us Mercedes-Benz spare parts. That was really a brilliant idea. It was great that you were all there. We had a great afternoon-evening with you.

And with our friends, we celebrated in style at our favorite place, the Speth-Hütte. Since we got married there by the lake in the forest 7 years ago, this place is always something special for us. We are pleased that everyone was there and participated in celebrating such a fantastic party. Unfortunately, I hardly have any pictures of this great party. We were busy with our friends and of course wanted to have a chat with everyone one last time. Unfortunately, taking photos was not a priority :( But we definitely want to thank all of you. It's always fun to celebrate a party in the forest with you. Thank you for the great gifts. Thank you Paschkes, thank you Seefreunde, thank you Runges... thank you to everyone who filled our box... you're amazing... it's great to have you. We will miss you. P.S. Thank you Klaus and Elmar for the great music at night. The dance floor was rocking until six in the morning. (I had muscle pain for two days and could hardly walk). The party will remain in our memories for a long time... and in 2019 we will definitely celebrate a 'We're back' party... we're already looking forward to it :)

In the meantime, we have also celebrated our farewell with our families. We will not see each other for a long time, and we would like to thank you once again for your support and assistance in planning and implementing our trip. Thank you Mom and Fritz (also for the delicious last meal), thank you Grandma and Grandpa, thank you Gote. We will miss you.

Even old friends we haven't seen in a long time came to say goodbye once again. We are overwhelmed by what our trip has sparked. We did not expect such a wonderful last reunion with everyone we know. It's great to have so many wonderful friends.
