Early in the morning, when the first rays of sun lit up Dublin, we met guide Robert, our guide through the treasures of the Emerald Isle.
Our planned start was delayed when bus driver Simon arrived a remarkable 45 minutes late. But instead of getting annoyed, we got to know the other participants better.
Our city tour took us to the highlights of the city, including the impressive Phoenix Nature Park. The fresh air and the breathtaking nature made us quickly forget the delay.
A highlight of our day was a visit to the National Museum, where we came face to face with a fascinating bog body that seemed to hold the secrets of bygone times.
On our scenic overland drive from Dublin to Kilkenny through the lush greenery of Ireland, we took a break that was used by one of our fellow travelers, Hartmut, to play his bagpipes. The sounds of this traditional music filled the air and gave our trip a very special touch.
In the evening we finally reached the Newpark Hotel Kilkenny, our cozy accommodation for the night. Exhausted from the day's experiences and filled with the beauty of Ireland.
Ireland had already captivated us and we knew that many more adventures awaited us.
