June 14th
A new day and a new adventure. Could say so. Unfortunately, not as we expected, but first things first. We set off on the 2nd day of our adventure at around 8 o'clock.
We made 2 stops at a lagoon and above a smaller salt lake. The weather was a bit cloudy. Heavy clouds obscured the normally blue sky. It was also cold! At least the rest of my group said that frequently. I actually felt quite comfortable 😊
But there's a saying; it can always be worse! Fortunately, that didn't apply to me. But it did to my namesake Floriane. Unfortunately, she took 2 steps too many towards the lagoon. A short crack, a little scream of terror, and it happened. Floriane was standing in the water up to her ankles...
Actually, it's not really funny in the cold, but somehow I couldn't help but laugh. Especially because I had this situation in my head a few moments before. Our next stop was the Termas. At first, I was a bit suspicious because of the last cold experience.
In the end, the opportunity for pleasantly hot water was too tempting, and I shouldn't regret it. The hot water was wonderful, and getting out was not as bad as in the Atacama Desert. Unfortunately, that was it for our day... Heavy snowfall prevented us from taking the planned route. As a result, several attractions were unfortunately missed.
Wilmer, our driver, really tried everything, but nothing helped. Thank you, Wilmer, for the many attempts and encouraging words!!! Very disappointed and somewhat angry, we returned to our accommodation from the first night.
It was annoying because a day was basically lost. So unfortunately, 45 euros too... A LOT of money for me. We were especially angry that our agency didn't inform us about the weather conditions and the possibility that part of the tour could be canceled. In a call with the agency, we didn't receive helpfulness, but rather an annoyed and angry secretary. So, we had no choice but to look forward and continue with the tour. We made the best of the situation.
