So now we are on a small quiet campsite near Porto. Unfortunately, Pia's eyes swelled up overnight. So we decided to try out the medical system in Portugal and I have to say it's great. Hospital nearby, no waiting time, nice doctor, and to top it off, the pharmacy is also open on Sundays. 😄 Paid 25 euros and got the diagnosis of allergies?! But it's okay, the main thing is nothing serious. Put on sunglasses for safety and off to Porto! And we are all excited and feel great, unlike in Lisbon. People are nicer and more relaxed, and the city is beautiful. Only the beautiful houses that occasionally decay and become ruins make me really sad. They are such beautiful facades that would fetch insane prices in any other metropolis, but here they are decaying. And now a little thing that surprised me, as a country with one of the lowest incomes in the EU, everything is much more expensive here than in Spain and I would even say Germany. Diesel costs 1.65 euros and the long overdue oil change for the Alhambra cost 210 euros, just to name a few examples. However, the prices for items that tourists need are cheap, like wine, dining out, handmade wool ponchos, copper pots 😂. And now off to go back to Spain.
