Our journey continued as planned on Tuesday, June 13th, heading north. Along the way, we crossed the Gironde Estuary on a ferry.
We set up camp for 2 nights in Marennes - Plage. It was still raining for the rest of the travel day. So we put Per to bed and watched movies in the evening, as usual. It's really cozy in the RV when the weather outside is mediocre.
On Wednesday morning, we took advantage of Per's morning nap to get some rest ourselves. After lunch, we prepared the bikes. Marennes is surrounded by a large oyster farming area. We rode around a bit until we reached Fort Louvois. This is part of various fortifications (including the well-known Fort Boyard) to control the local area, which was more industrialized in the 18th century.
On the way back, Jelto tried an oyster at an oyster farm. Unfortunately, we don't have a photo, so our family council has decided that he will repeat the torture to illustrate the spectacle for the readership. The vote was 2:1.
In the evening, Per surprised us with a little gymnastics session. He can now climb into the RV on his own.
