I use my supermarket visit in the city to get Wi-Fi. My data volume is almost used up, so I have to be a little frugal in the last days of July :D. I am now in Midi Pyrénées, in Foix, a beautiful small town at the entrance to the real mountains. After having a quite weird hostel in Carcassonne, with a loudly snoring old man and a disgusting smell in the room (I even tried wearing a mask, no way), I have landed in a completely different world: Niels Alain has welcomed me in his self-built eco-hippie house. I mean, okay, it's a bit remote and he is 73, but he enjoys the company and I enjoy the peace and quiet.
Alain has written probably 30 books about trees, and I found one with his poems. You can imagine that it sometimes gets philosophical (at least with him). The town is about 1.2 hours away, but hitchhiking works incredibly well. I've always been picked up within 5 minutes, at most.
On a little hike to the town, I had to deal with roadblocks again, and this time they really meant it. But the tree did its job. Thank you, tree.
Now it's time for some honest words: I am torn between too many and too few people. What is the right path for me between society and solitude? My thirst for adventure drives me to remote places, and mostly I find the company I seek right there. And despite all the adventures, I miss my better half, which is a new experience but a beautiful one <3.
