Actually, I only intended to visit the National Palace Museum for a short time, but I ended up staying for a few hours. Admission to the National Palace Museum requires payment, which is rare in Taipei, but the amount is not very high at 350 NTD.
The exhibits are well arranged, documented, and described. I found the ancient objects from the Bronze Age, the manuscripts, and the detailed descriptions and explanations of individual special exhibits and their examination and restoration particularly interesting. The hand-painted mini bottles (about 3-4 cm tall) for perfumes and the porcelain goods were also very attractive, just to name a few things.
After my visit to the museum, I relaxed in the neighboring beautifully landscaped park.
It was too late for a trip to Beitou, a place with hot springs. So, I decided to climb the stairs of Elephant Mountain Trail again and watch the sunset over Taipei.
It was challenging, but the ascent was definitely worth it.
