The journey continues north. The roads of Queensland go further and further. In rural areas you're pretty much alone on the roads, there's not that much traffic. Since the car does a lot on its own: steering, reducing or increasing speed with cruise control, I have some “time” to briefly look to the left and right of the streets. Nature has changed since I left Brisbane. There are sometimes large plantations with fruit trees on the side of the road. And you see more and more palm trees along the way.
I am now staying in a settlement in the middle of the forest for the next few days. A gecko has “rented” into the property as a roommate. Even if he is harmless and is more afraid of me - I don't want him in my bedroom!
There are lots of monitor lizards around the house and kangaroos also come by here from time to time.
