Today we will visit the ruins of Chan Chan as part of a tour. Chan Chan was the capital of the pre-Columbian Chimú empire and has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1986. In the afternoon, the day trip will take us to the Moche Valley to visit the temples of "Huaca del Sol" (Temple of the Sun) and "Huaca del Luna" (Temple of the Moon). The Huaca del Sol is the largest adobe structure in the Americas. Both temples are still undergoing excavation, although the Huaca del Luna can be partially visited to this day.
