Good morning Barcelona
This morning at 9 o'clock we arrived in Barcelona. This is a completely different dimension of a port compared to the one in Toulon.
This time we went for breakfast early because we had booked an excursion for Barcelona.
At 10:15 we started our excursion called 'Discover Barcelona on Your Own with the City Loop'.
We took the bus for about 30 minutes towards the city, where we were dropped off and had to walk for about 15 minutes to get to Sagrada Familia. Then we had 1 hour to visit (from the outside, we couldn't get much closer than a big fence). So we walked around it. It's a huge building and the crowds were insane. The waffle stand was cool, a bit out of place for the area 😉, but funny. Back at the meeting point, we took the bus to the Gothic Quarter where the excursion ended and we could walk through the old town until we decided to take the Aida shuttle bus back. We just walked through the houses to La Ramblas and went to the Mercat de la Boqueria, the most famous market in Barcelona. Huge, just insane, with a variety of fresh food. We had a snack there, bought a pack of different salamis, and slowly made our way to the World Trade Center where the Aida shuttle bus was supposed to leave to go back to the ship.
Completely exhausted from the many kilometers we covered, we sat down at the Stella Bar and had a coffee. Then we enjoyed the rest of the day until dinner on our balcony.
We couldn't really get excited about the upcoming program in the evening, so we decided to play bingo again. And what can I say - we even won in the second round. With the prize in hand, we happily went to the Anytime Bar to celebrate with a delicious cocktail 🍹.
That evening we thought - it can't get any better - we were wrong 😉
