Today we went again to the big cliffs, the Cliffs of Moher. They were my absolute highlight on our tour of Ireland in 2014 🥰
These rocks are still absolutely gigantic🫶, but they are also pretty crowded now (there were 8 coaches and probably 200 cars in the parking lot). And everything is much more secured. Before you could get really close to the edge, now safe paths have been developed. On the one hand, this is of course completely true, but it does take away from the originality of the whole thing. And of course it also costs: entry now costs €12 per person.
So today I have to say: The Kilkee Cliffs, where we were the day before, are significantly smaller, but are in no way inferior to the experience. ❤️
We were again absolutely lucky with the weather. The sun was burning ☀️. And what was in the motorhome again? Our caps, of course. We had just bought some in Norway because we had forgotten the ones from Croatia 😂 So now we also have Irish caps. At some point we'll start a collection...
Although we didn't walk very far, at the end of the day there were over 7,500 steps (most of them uphill 🤪), which I had completely forgotten in my memory 😅
On the way back we drove around a bit and found an old church ruin with a cemetery. 👻
After that we quickly went back to Adare. The fish & chips in the pub have called again, this time with live music 🎻
So it was totally full and we only managed to get two seats at the counter.
Conclusion of the evening: Guinness is the devil's work. Tastes good! After one you don't notice anything, ANYTHING. After 1 1/2 the effect slowly sets in... After 2 pints you're suddenly completely drunk when you get out into the fresh air again 😜
