For once, not a bike tour, but a relaxed ferry ride. The only stressful part was the time (departure at 7:40!). But we were able to enjoy the sunrise at the harbor. That gave us enough time for a short hike on Srd, the mountain of Dubrovnik, which can also be reached by cable car. The walk takes only about an hour and offers beautiful views of the city. The sunset from the mountain was impressive, and on the way back, we made a short detour (of course with dinner) to the old town.
The next day, we joined another free walking tour, which, like the previous ones, was interesting and far from boring. In the afternoon, we explored the old town by walking on the city walls. We were told that it is an absolute must-do, but the entrance fee is around 30€ per person... Whether it is worth it or not, everyone has to decide for themselves. But for us, it was definitely painful.
The following day, we spent our money much better. For the same price, we took the ferry to the nearby island and visited the small national park. There, we found many free-roaming peacocks, beautiful beaches, and a small botanical garden. We could have easily spent more time on this island! After a final dinner in Dubrovnik, we sadly had to pack our bags. Laura was already heading back to Germany the next day. I'm already looking forward to her next visit!
